Navy officers Lt. Christopher Pantaleon, Petty Officer 3 Almario Manalili and officer Reynan Sumalinog were killed while they were patrolling the coastal line of Barangay Kandiis in Muhammad Ajul town Tuesday night at around 7:25 pm by a former MILF group. This is according to Senior Superintendent Abubaker Tulawie, Basilan’s provincial police chief. The former MILF group is believed to have been led by a certain Tanad Nasalun.

Accrding to Tulawie, the bandits fired at the Navy team, instantly killing the 3 officers. Because of this more policemen and troops were sent to the area to search for the said group.
