The Philippine team won a total of 74 medals in the recently held ASEAN Para Games which was held in Malaysia from August 15-19. This ASEAN Para Games is known as the parallel sports event for the disabled. This event is being held after every SEA games or Southeast Asian Games.

The Philippine team had a total of 24 gold, 24 silver medals and 26 bronze. The medals were won the the chess, swimming, athletics and other events.

Thailand is the leader in the standing with the total of 157 gold medals, 75 silver medals and 57 bronze medals. Second placer is Malaysia, third is Vietnam and 4th is Indonesia. Other participating countries include Brunei Darussalam, Laos, Cambodia, Singapore and Myanmar.
