A Fire Hit Pasay
A fire hit a residential area in Pasay City shortly before midnight Sunday. The officials said that the said fire lasted for seven hours leaving from 60 to 70 families homeless. Arson Investigator Officer 1 Robert Cobilla said that the fire started from the house of Mr. Perfecto Trinidad in Pestanas St. corner Park Ave. .
The fire quickly spread and reached fifth alarm before it was put out more than seven hours after at 7:10 a.m. Monday. The fire destroyed the homes of at least 60 families, Officer Cobilla said.
Chief Inspector Junito Maslang, city fire marshall, said that the number of homeless families affected by the fire reached 70. He also said that the light materials of the houses caused the fire to spread fast.
An earlier dzMM radio report put the number of houses razed at 50 and at least 100 families homeless.
Arson investigators are still determining the cause of the fire.
Whatever the cause of the fire is, we must be willing to help our fellowmen in whichever way we can.
