Another special election in Lanao?

Another special election is set to happen in Lanao as per Gmanews.tv report.

PARANG, Shariff Kabunsuan – The Commission on Elections declared Saturday a failure of special elections in Butig, in Lanao del Sur after members of the board of election inspectors refused to do their duties.

Chief Insp. Danilo Bacas, spokesperson for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao police, cited the misunderstanding of candidates about the clustering of precincts as the basis for declaring failure of elections in the area.

But why did this board of election inspectors refused to do their duties? Is it because some politicians in Butig have advised the people not to cast their votes, prompting BEIs also to refuse performing their tasks?

The entire municipality will hold another election with policemen acting as board of election inspectors. Bacas said at least 100 policemen will administer Sunday’s election in .
