Filipina-American boxer Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton will be chasing history next week when she attempts to become the first number 1 ranked Filipina in US boxking history when she competes at the U.S. Boxing Championships in Colorado Springs. The boxing extravaganza is slated from June 2 to 8 and has attracted over 300 of the nation’s top boxers, both men and women. The winner of the men’s draw will have a shot at an Olympic berth while the female boxers will be competing for a national championship.

The preliminary bouts are scheduled from June 2 to 6 at the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs Campus, University Gymnasium. The quarterfinal bouts are scheduled for June 5 at the same venue with Women’s Championship bout on June 6. Ms. Julaton, a 26 year-old Filipino-American boxing sensation will be facing 5 opponents in a span of 5 days in her quest for the number 1 ranking.
