Due to continued increase in the price of sugar, the price of loaf of bread will also increase by P2 while the pan de sal will increase by P1. Some bakeries have the option of increasing the price or decreasing the size.
"Some of our community bakery-members have started their price adjustments this week to cope with the spiraling cost of ingredients particularly sugar," said Leonardo Figueroa of the Philippine Federation of Bakers Association Inc.
Bakers could only hope for the stability of the price of flour.

According to PAG-ASA on Saturday, a public storm signal will be over the northern Luzon provinces after an active low pressure develop into a storm.
The name of the Tropical Depression is “Nando”
Public storm signal No. 1 was hoisted over the northern Luzon provinces of Aurora, Cagayan and Isabela.
The storm is expected to move closer to Auora and Palanan on Sunday morning and closer to Vigan City by Monday. The Country is still recovering from the disaster that the storm “Maring” brought.

The preliminary competition of Ms. Universe 2009 will have an online streaming tomorrow, Monday by Binibining Pilipinas Website for the first time at 8 am. Overprints of the 12 million banknotes will be issued starting Thursday for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas or BSP. Overprints include all the six circulation notes.
