The name of the Tropical Depression is “Nando”

Public storm signal No. 1 was hoisted over the northern Luzon provinces of Aurora, Cagayan and Isabela.

The storm is expected to move closer to Auora and Palanan on Sunday morning and closer to Vigan City by Monday. The Country is still recovering from the  disaster that the storm “Maring” brought.

The 20-piso note has the portrait of Manuel L. Quezon, first President, and the scrolls with the “Wikang Pambansa” and “Saligang  Batas” inscriptions. The reverse Malacanan Palace where Quezon was the first president to ever stayed there.

The 50-piso note has the portrait of Sergio Osmena, a gavel which shows speakership and the Fuente Osmena monument which was erected for his honor. The other side shows the National Museum. The note also shows the “Gusali ng Pambansang Museo".

The 100-piso note show the portrait of Manuel A. Roxas and the image of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas head office in Manila. It also features the figure of a Winged Victory vignette.

The 200-piso features President Diosdado P. Macapagal, father of President Gloria-Macapagal Arroyo. He moved the Indepence Day celebration to June 12 from July 4. Also shows the Aguinaldo shrine. On the other side shows the People Power II and the oathtaking of President Gloria-Macapagal Arroyo. It also has Braille symbols for the blind and the microprinting of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

The 500-piso note show the portrait of Benigno “Ninoy" S. Aquino Jr. and representative objects from his life. On the other side are images of peace, unity and reconciliation during the 1986 People Power Revolution. 

The 1000-piso note shows the portraits of Josefa Llanes Escoda, Vicente Lim and Jose Abad Santos who were heroes during World War II. On the other side are images of Banawe Rice Terraces in Luzon, Manunggul Jar in the Visayas and the Langgal (Muslim Mosque) in Mindanao.

PSL will be integrated in Sibika at Kultura/Heograpiya, Kasaysayan at Sibika (SK/HEKASI) in the elementary level and Araling Panlipunan in the secondary level. It will also be included in the Character Education and Values Education classes whenever possible. Lessons are made in the context of the Filipino culture.

A team will be organized to support the schools that have cases of child abuse. This team will include representatives from DepEd, DSWD, local government unit, PNP and the DOJ.

They will be trained by the Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Sexual Abuse (CPTCSA) in order to ably handle child abuse disclosures and other violence in schools.The CPTCSA is a non-profit organization recognized as a leading agency in providing information and technology on child-centered prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse in schools.

This measure has been supported by various teacher’s groups. This will help many children especially those children who longer want to attend school because of their bad experiences. According to studies not only adults are the perpetrators but the children’s peers as well.

They call their security measures as “Oplan Manila Shield” to prevent the criminal groups and terrorists groups to take advantage of the sona.

Rallyists are also expected to come. Rosales said maximum tolerance will be implemented.

As part of the overall security measures for the Sona, anti-riot policemen will secure Mendiola Bridge near Malacañang Palace, Edsa Shrine in Mandaluyong City, and the United States Embassy in Roxas Boulevard, Manila.

SWAT will also be on standby.

In Quezon City alone, 3,000 cops will be on hand during the Sona with majority of the deployment at the Batasan Pambansa.

Although there are still no threats for the sona, security will be tightened because of the bombings in the country for the past few months.

“President Arroyo wishes to congratulate in advance the INC, at present under the stewardship of Executive Minister Eraño Manalo and Deputy Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo, on this year’s landmark anniversary,” Malacañang said in a statement.

“Likewise, the President wishes to thank the INC for the very active and significant roles its leaders and members have always played not only in the spiritual and moral formation of our people over the past several decades, but in nation-building as well,” the Palace said.
