I just want to know the present situation of our country. There are lots of problem being encountered due to the high inflation rate that we are experiencing. While watching Report at the news I have seen that inflation rate is now reaching about 9 %. It will only means that our salary has decreased more or least 9% because that percentage goes only to the inflation. I know that because of this problem some Filipinos will engage to faxless cash advance . Thinking about Philippine I must say that I still believe in our Judicial System. Although our Judicial System is a bit slow compared to other such as Atlantic Law ( This is just speculation ) or other law around the globe ( this is just what  I am seeing in the Television ) . What I don’t like in our Judicial system is when I am hearing that there are poor people being on trial. You can always see on television that when the people on trial is poor it takes them long time just to resolve a case, But if the person concern is a known or rich person rest assured that there will be hearing everyday and not monthly like what they are doing with poor people. What if somebody from Atlantic Law will stand for those poor people will it make a difference? Well I also don”t know even those lawyers from Atlantic Law are internationally known they cannot change it. Not unless somebody in the Opposition hired them to do so . Again above post is just my assumption based on media. If somebody have different experience. Speak out.

Genuine Opposition (GO) candidate Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III said he was  filing in the Supreme Court on Wednesday a petition to stop the Commission on Elections from canvassing disputed vote tallies from Maguindanao, which could push Juan Miguel Zubiri of Team Unity (TU) past him in their battle for the last Senate slot.

Zubiri has been urging the Comelec to go ahead with the tabulation of the Maguindanao votes.

TU lawyer Romulo Macalintal said his clients would join the Abalos trip and thus end the controversy plaguing the Maguindanao voting results.”TU is ready to go there and see for itself the proof that elections  were held in Maguindanao, based on the documents that the election officers are said to present,” he said.

The Comelec

The comelec is also doing their part by going to to General Santos City of a three-man Comelec panel led by Chair
Benjamin Abalos for a meeting with Maguindanao poll officials on alleged vote fraud in the province during the May 14 elections.

Instead of going directly to Maguindanao, the Comelec panel has decided to meet with the province’s 22 election officers and their provincial supervisor, Lintang Bedol, in General Santos City.

My Opinion

To the Comelec do your part as soon as possible so that your institution will not be in question by any parties. I just wonder why did the Comelec only act now, The votes from Maguindanao has been in question for almost a month now after they deliver a 12-0 votes. All investigation should already be done before and not only now.

Let our educational system provide our younger generation with teachings on the importance of suffrage. Education is most useful to teach future electorates the importance of voting. A number of first time voters, for example, have failed to practice their suffrage because they do not see the importance of their votes. Providing them with ideal standards in choosing for a leader will also help them effectively assess who among the election candidates are worth choosing for. When our educational system teaches our students the importance of voting for a candidate with high moral standards, concern to the environment, and the ability to execute or legislate laws, for example, then we might be able to foster future electorates to vote based on their own research, evaluation on particular candidates and conscience.

Government leaders should be encouraged to lead the way of having high morals during elections. The reason why many Filipinos fail to become wise voters is that a number of our elected and even appointed officials do not have high morals when running for and even sitting in public office. Why would voters be tempted to sell their votes? Because there are politicians and even public officials offering to buy people’s votes. Imagine having Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez offering P10,000 to every barangay captain in IloIlo if they can deliver a 12-0 victory for the TU party. Is the offer not an attempt to buy the votes of the ilonggos? Some senatoriables did not even follow simple election rules. As of the first week of May, the Pera’t Pulitika Working Group findings has reported that Manny Villar already spent P138 Million in campaign expenses when a senatoriable is allowed to spend only about P135 million. In Marawi City, it was also reported that sample ballots come with money. Are politicians in Marawi not responsible for this? Our electorates can become wiser if our public officials are not as shrewd and corrupt as many of them are.

I hope that the time when Filipino voters become wiser will come soon. By then, we can say to Filipino critics that “we are an intelligent people who choose our leaders wisely and with conscience.

In my total assessment Janette is right about the lack of resources by the Comelec. Since if you will check COMELEC Website it will give you more information about the past election and not the information regarding the present election. I also agree with Janette that if there will be a group of bloggers that will really focus on 2010 election, The training and concept should be formulated as early as this year.

We were amongst other giants in mainstream media — ABS CBN, GMA 7, Phil. Daily Inquirer among other scores of local print and broadcast journalist. Cameraphone Helps Stop Crime Then Banned in the Philippines by the Comelec during election.

The Commission on Elections in the Philippines (COMELEC) has banned cellphones and cameras inside the polling precinct. COMELEC Chairman Benjamin Abalos said that the ban was due to information his office received that cellphones will be used to facilitate vote buying. The cellphones and digital cameras, apparently, can be used to ensure that voters who got paid to vote for candidates will make good on their end of the deal.
