An independent audit group came out with a report showing that elections in Maguindanao province was marred by fraud that largely benefited newly proclaimed senator Juan Miguel Zubiri.In the 15-page Citizens’ Audit Report of the 2007 National Elections released on Friday, Halalang Marangal or the Network of Citizens for Honest Elections and Truthful Statistics, said Zubiri “is the biggest beneficiary of the Maguindanao certificates of canvass fraud because it puts him in the winning circle of senatorial candidates, dislodging Pimentel.” Zubiri overtook Pimentel by a lead of 19,292 votes in …

After the Supreme Court failed to stop the proclamation of administration candidate Juan Miguel Zubiri, supporters of his rival Aquilino Pimentel III are planning a protest action.
But QTV-11 television reported that Pimentel’s supporters plan not to protest his defeat, but to express their dismay over the election process.
It said no details of the protest action were immediately available, but Pimentel planned to meet with his supporters to discuss the matter.

The Commission on Elections Monday proclaimed the first 13 winners in the Philippine party-list elections held on May 14, allowing at least their first nominees to finally sit in the 14th Congress.
In a six-page resolution, the Comelec, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, proclaimed the following

Based on the Commission on Election’s latest senatorial tally, the lead of Genuine Opposition candidate Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III over TEAM Unity’s Juan Miguel Zubiri has dwindled to only 501 votes.
If the Supreme Court will not give any order to stop the counting from Maguindanao. Pimentel might be thrown out by Zubiri. Pantar and from Bogo would be crucial in determining the last winning senator.Pantar has a voting population of 10,000 while Bogo has 20,000.

Finally Trillanes will be proclaimed on Friday ,
MANILA, Philippines — Detained opposition candidate Antonio Trillanes IV is the 11th senator-elect and is set to be proclaimed Friday, Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman Benjamin Abalos said Thursday.
The decision to proclaim Trillanes, a former Navy lieutenant, was made by the Comelec, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, after finishing the canvass of votes from Surigao del Norte.

The Commission on Elections proclaimed Wednesday night 10 winning senatorial candidates, including six from the Genuine Opposition, two from the administration’s Team Unity, and two independents.held at the Philippine International Convention Center, CCP Complex on Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.
The ten proclaimed as senators, based on ranking, are Loren Legarda (GO), Francis “Chiz” Escudero (GO), Panfilo “Ping” Lacson (GO), Manuel Villar Jr (GO), Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan (ind.), Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino (GO), Edgardo Angara (TU), Alan Cayetano (GO), Joker Arroyo (TU), and Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan (ind.).
