Rubilen “Bingkay” Amit ranked number 10 in the world’s best cue artist according to the latest World Pool Billiard Association rankings. Bingkay is one of the top players of Mr. Aristeo Puyat, a sportsman-businessman, of Puyat Sports. She tied with Fu Xiaofang of China on the 10th place.

M,asters in billiards Efren “Bata” Reyes and Franciscon “Django” Bustamante made it to the semifinal round of the 2009 PartyCasino.net World Cup of Pool by Team England at the SM Edsa on Saturday. Reyes and Bustamante of Team B won over England’s Imran Majid and World 10-Ball Champion Darren Appleton with the score of 9 to 1 in their quarterfinals matchup.

The new pride of the Philippines, 19 year-old Marvin Sonsona won over Jose Lopez of Puerto Rico, this Friday (Saturday in Manila). He won the World Boxing Organization (WBO) super flyweight title at the Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada. The scores were 116-109, 115-110, 114-111, all in favor of Sonsona.
“Lopez was such a tough fighter, and winning a decision against him shows that I’m a real fighter, and a worthy champion,” the hard-punching Sonsona said shortly after winning the fight.

The Philippine team won a total of 74 medals in the recently held ASEAN Para Games which was held in Malaysia from August 15-19. This ASEAN Para Games is known as the parallel sports event for the disabled. This event is being held after every SEA games or Southeast Asian Games.
The Philippine team had a total of 24 gold, 24 silver medals and 26 bronze. The medals were won the the chess, swimming, athletics and other events.

Congratulations to Rhap Salazar and Kimverlie Molina for winning in the 13th World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) which was held in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.
Rhap Salazar of ABS-CBN’s “Little Big Star’s Brightest Star” won the Junior Grand Champion Performer of the World and the 2009 Grand Champion Junior Vocalist of the World titles. The World Women’s 10-Ball Championship has been announced and I feel great to announced that a Filipina by the name of Rubilen Amit won the contest. She defeated two-time world champion Liu Shin-mei of Chinese Taipei. She is a 27 year old girl from Mandaue. Amit defeated 48 cue women player . A Filipino talent that we can be proud of, Jal Joshua Lebumfacil. Jal Joshua won second prize in the Grand Finals of the Australia’s God Talent 2009.
Jal Joshua is a 12 years old who showed Australia how good Filipinos are in singing! Jal Joshua sang “You’ll Never Walk Alone” in Australia’s Got Talent SemiFinal 2009. He won 2nd place in the final round. To know more about him, you can watch the video below. Mark Vincent won first in the said contest. They are both amazing.
