Ten out of 3,000 teachers who will serve as Board of Election Inspectors (BEI) in the upcoming May 10 elections did not pass a government exam that would certify them as IT-capable, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said on Monday.
“Ten teachers out of 3,000 ang bagsak (failed),” Comelec Commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal told reporters in an interview. He, however, said that the figure is not alarming.
“Ask any statistician, 10 out of 3,000, is that a big percentage? No,” Larrazabal said.

Erap, Drilon comments about issuance of fatwa against them

Former President Joseph Estrada and re-electionist Sen. Franklin Drilon are not bothered by the issuance of fatwa against them by a council of Muslim scholars. Fatwa is a religious edict declaring them “enemies of Islam.”

100 soldiers has been provided by the PNP to about 50 candidates in the coming 2010 May elections according to Armed Forces public affairs office chief Lt. Col. Romeo Brawner.
“As of January 31, the Comelec has approved the applications of 50 candidates who are to be provided with AFP security. That’s according to our Task Force HOPE (Honest Orderly and Peaceful Elections),” Brawner said in an interview.

Commission on Elections or Comelec earlier said that they are confident that the election results from the poll machines will not be hacked. They believe that the websites are secure inspite of the reports of the hacked national govenment agencies like the DOH (Department of Health) and DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development).

4,000 machines for 2010 polls now with Comelec

There are about 4,000 machines arrived yesterday , this machine will be used for the 2010 polls election that will be conducted to conclude the next president of the Philippines . This machines are part of Philippine Election 2010 Computerization | Automation , that will happen on May 2010.

Chiz Bolted out from NPC

Chiz Escudero has just bolted out from NPC, and now as an independent candidate. He have not yet formally declared his intension of running as a president. Chiz is a member of  Danding Cojuanco’s Party ( NPC ) .
