Manny Pacquiao is the latest Pound per pound Boxer in Yahoo.

According to Yahoo! Sports Kevin Iole, the congressman from Sarangani province received 21 of 36 first place votes for a total of 345 points based on their polling this August.

He was 15 points ahead of his closest rival, Mayweather. The unbeaten American garnered 15 of 36 first-place votes for a total of 330 points.

Mexican boxers are better than Filipinos ?

I want to quote this news I got from ABS CBN where Marco Antonio Barrera is boasting how great Mexican boxers compared compared to Filipinos. We just don’t know if he can win again Rey Boom Boom Bautista in their match on August 28,2010.

MANILA, Philippines – The cousin of Mexican boxing legend Marco Antonio Barrera declared that fighters from Mexico are better than their Filipino counterparts.

“Filipino fighters are very good, but Mexicans are better,” Alejandro “Zorrito” Barrera said in an interview ALA Promotions public relations man Chad Cañares as quoted by PhilBoxing.com.

Barrera said this ahead of his August 28 fight against Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista of the Philippines. They will clash at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu City in the main event of “Philippines versus the Rest of the World.”

The Mexican went on to say that he will show that Mexican pugilists are “tough and fearless.”

Bautista, for his part, reacted to his opponent’s pronouncement.

“It is not a question of race. It is a question of training and dedication. We are equals when we go inside the ring,” the Filipino said.

Barrera has 20 wins (with 13 knockouts) and 3 losses while Bautista has 28 wins (with 21 KOs) and 2 losses.

The Mexican said his preparation for his fight in Cebu has been very good. He added, “I am very motivated. It is a good opportunity for me.”

Meanwhile, he also talked about his superstar cousin.

Congratulation to Spain for winning the World Cup 2010 , as the Champion , The highlights of the game is when Andres INIESTA made the first point for Spain. The final score was 1:0 in favor of Spain over Netherlands. It was a nice game.

But the whole team made the effort to win, Netherlands have also made a good game. Congratulation to both of them.

Pacquiao-Margarito to come up

A fight between Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito is being negotiated.

“I think the chances are very, very good, very, very good,” said Arum during a recent press conference in Los Angeles, announcing Margarito’s May 8 bout with WBC light-middleweight champ Roberto Garcia.

The fight with Pacquiao will depend Margarito’s fight with Garcia. Pacquiao and Margarito fight might happen sometime in September to November.

“I think that would be an interesting fight based on how he (Margarito) does in this fight and obviously if he fought Manny Pacquiao it would be in the United States,” said Arum, who also defended Margarito against the touchy hand wraps issue.

If Margarito will win over Garcia there is a big possibility of having a fight with Manny Pacquiao.

Kobe’s sore ankle

Kobe Bryant, LA Laker’s star player has not played their basketball games since February 15 because of his sprained left ankle. Inspite of his absence in the game, their team still won all three games.

The decision of coming back to the game is still up to Bryant. This is according to their coach Phil Jackson.

"When he’s ready to play, we’ll encourage him to play," Jackson said.

According to Jackson, Bryant practised a day before the game but the next day felt that he cannot play for the mean time although he did not complain about it.

Bryant will become the youngest player in NBA history to reach the 1000th regular season contest in his next game.

Meanwhile, Andrew Bynum returned the lineup of Lakers after missing to games because of bruised right hip.

Pacquiao vs. Clottey to fight at 147 lbs

Manny Pacquiao’s trainor Freddie Roach said that the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Ghanaian Joshua Clottey on March 13 will not have a catchweight.

“It will be at 147. There’s no catchweight,” Roach told FightHype.com. A catchweight describes a weight limit for a fight that does not fall in traditional limits for weight divisions.

“He’ll come into this fight like 144-145 and he’ll go into the ring at 148 or 149 at most and that’s his best fighting weight,” Roach said.

Roach said that Pacquiao is more happy to fight after eating instead of fighting hungry because he gets angry when he is hungry. Pacman is set to fight with Clottey at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington Texas.

Vincent Scolpino, Clottey’s manager, said that they abide by the state’s rules.

“Hopefully, everybody will be professional in the situation and we won’t have anything to worry about,” he added.

.Pacquiao’s team chose Clottey.

“It’s a great opportunity for Josh against the best fighter in the world and he’s going to do what he has to do,” noted Scolpino.

He added that Pacquiao is one of the best fighters ever and that he respect him.
