It has been suspected that the grenade attack in a certain karaoke bar in Jolo, has been the work of the Abu Sayyafs who were now holding the three Red Cross volunteers, Filipina Mary Jean Lacaba, Italian Eugenio Vagni and Swiss national Andreas Notter.

The Commission on Elections postponed Monday voting in Pantar, Lanao del Norte after receiving reports of missing ballot boxes in the area.
COMELEC Chairman Benjamin Abalos said date of resumption of the elections in the province will be announced soon. He clarified that the elections were merely postponed and there was no failure of elections.
Abalos said Valencia City in Bukidnon province was placed under COMELEC control. He said Eastern Visayas officials have requested for augmentation forces in the region.

It is reported by Inquirer that Masbate polls turn bloody this early; 2 dead in ambush
SORSOGON CITY—Maundy Thursday turned bloody in Masbate province after a group of supporters of a mayoral candidate in the town of Batuan on Ticao Island was ambushed, killing two of its members and wounding another at about 4:30 p.m., police reported.
Insp. Nicanor Aycocho, Batuan police chief, identified those killed as Manuel Ramiso, 37, and Raymundo Persia, 35, both of Barangay Poblacion, while wounded was Carlo Aligada, 37, of the same barangay.
