Class Suspension in Metro Manila

Classes were suspended in Metro Manila due to swine flu that is starting to spread. De La Salle University (DLSU) made a 10-day suspension, other schools that have suspended the opening of classes from June 8 were the University of Santo Tomas, University of the Philippines-Manila, Far Eastern University, University of Asia and the Pacific and St. Paul University-Manila.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque said that there are better ways to prevent the spread of the said swine flu in schools which is the practice of proper hygiene among students and school officials.

According Duque four more people have been infected with the A(H1N1) virus or the swine flu which makes a total of 33 confirmed cases in the Philippines. The La Salle students with swine flu were responding to the treatment, and fever subsided. 120 students who had contact with the said students are now being traced Duque said.
