Thanks for your visit, We would also like to invite you in Tech At Hand

I commend the act of Mike Defensor,President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s ex-Chief of Staff , who  conceded defeat in the senatorial elections, saying he wanted to ease the prevailing tension and to prevent possible “inimical acts” to get him into the winning circle. who conceded

He was accompanied by his wife Julie Rose, who occasionally wiped away tears as he spoke, and their four children. He was quoted saying:

“I concede to ease the tension on the ground and dismiss any notion that there may be illegal acts committed to attain my victory,” said a sad-faced Defensor.

“I concede so as to enjoin my allies and friends who may want, in their desire to have me win, commit acts inimical to the essence of democracy and fair play in an electoral battle. I concede because I love my family and I want my children to learn that there is honor in defeat.

“I concede. May peace and serenity prevail.”

“While the final outcome may not yet be determined, I am already sure that I cannot land within the Magic 12 … It is just numerically impossible, and for this I concede,” he said.

I like his attitude, although he has still chance in the 12th position, He faced the reality that He loose the election. What an honorable act of a young politcian. If every politician will be like him, There will be no chaos.

Mike Defensor’s lost was not his alone but of the entire Filipino nation. The electorate has spoken thru the ballot and it seems that they don’t want somebody who will genuinely fight for the best interest of this country.
Mike Defensor was the only candidate with a true activist background having served as Chairman of the National Union of Students in the Philippines and vice chairman of the UP Central Student Council.
Again, the people failed to see a good leader — a candle that could have guide this country towards daylight.
    Let it be.
