To those who want to be saved: Just as the Sugar Bowl (or any other sports or games) has its rules, God has also His own. And when it comes to man’s salvation, Ephesians 2:8-10 is His rule.
Salvation cannot be obtained through our own efforts. If a person thinks he is or can be saved because he is a member of a certain religious group, or because he has done something good for somebody, etc., he is definitely on the wrong track and is not following the rules. Salvation is God’s gift. A gift is truly a gift if it is free. Salvation is free not because it is cheap but because Someone has paid for it – the Lord Jesus Christ. Believe in Him and you will be saved, too (Acts 16:31). After you have trusted in Jesus Christ as your Savior, He will change your life and lead you to do the good works according to His plan and will.
