Rubilen “Bingkay” Amit ranked number 10 in the world’s best cue artist according to the latest World Pool Billiard Association rankings. Bingkay is one of the top players of Mr. Aristeo Puyat, a sportsman-businessman, of Puyat Sports. She tied with Fu Xiaofang of China on the 10th place.

“Masayang-masaya po ako kasi nagbunga na ang lahat ng sakripisyo at paghihirap ko po,” said the former Makati call center employee, who gave up her work to focus on billiard.

“Salamat po sa family ko, kay Sir Putch (Puyat) at coach Boyet (Asonto), hindi ko mararating ang kinalalagyan ko ngayon kung hindi dahil sa suporta po nila,” she added.

Amit had a chance to team up with pool maestro and Puyat Sports stable mate Efren “Bata” Reyes to capture the 1st Mixed Doubles Classic championships.

Ireland’s Karen Corr is on the top, Liu Shin-Mei of Chinese Taipei is 2nd, Kelly Fisher of Ireland is 3rd, Jasmin Ouschan of Austria took 5th and Allison Fisher of Great Britain took the 6th spot.

Amit won two gold medals in the recently concluded Southeast Asian Games in Laos. Next best Filipina cue artist is Iris Ranola who ranked 48th and the 11-yr old who ranked 51 is Gillian Go.
