Fire hits Comelec

Inquirer.net reported that A major fire broke out at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) headquarters in historic Intramuros, Manila, early Sunday morning, barely two months before national elections.

The question is will thiis affect the election?

“It won’t affect the preparations for elections,” Jimenez, director of the Comelec’s education and information department, said in a call from Singapore.

Election commissioner Rene Sarmiento, who was at the scene, said the fire would “slightly affect our preparations but nothing substantial.”

But the question is how can they tell that it will not affect the election, If some of the documents needed for election is there?
