Leaders of the recruitment sector are seeking “mandatory emergency repatriation and liability insurance" to protect overseas Filipino workers. it was said during the press conference on Friday, Eduardo E. Mahiya and Loreto B. Soriano, president and executive director respectively of the Federated Associations of Manpower Exporters (FAME), together with their officials said the measure is all the more necessary in the face of a US financial crisis threatening the global economy.

They proposed to have the mandatory insurance at $5,000 to shield workers should there be adverse situation in the job site abroad.

But they have not mention where will they get the fund of those mandatory Insurance. Will it be from the government’s fund or they will ask for insurance fee. They should clear it out. Or why don’t they get it from POEA Funds.
