It has been announced in media that Senator was able to talk to the said leader of the Abusayyafs who is Parad. In their said talk, Parad said that he will release one of their hostages if the military troops surrounding their hideouts will retreat.

But it was a dismay when the said promise has not been done. No hostage was released.

The Philippine government and the local Red Cross branch rowed in public on Sunday after bandits failed to release one of three aid workers held hostage as they earlier promised.

However no one has been released and the government admitted on Saturday that hopes were fading that the Abu Sayyaf would deliver on their pledge.

Senator Richard Gordon who is also the Philippine National Red Cross chairman said in a statement, "I shall hold the president and (her) minions responsible if any one of our three colleagues have been killed in any irresponsible attempt to rescue them,"

According to him, the military did not do his request to repositon their forces.

Gordon retorted that he was "compelled to intervene because the lives of our colleagues (had) been put in clear and present danger when the military troops irresponsibly attacked their captors’ lair. In fact, we were able to stop their executions."

Let us hope and pray for the safe release of the Red Cross workers.
