Thanks for your visit, We would also like to invite you in Tech At Hand

Absentee Voting has just started last April 14, 2007 as mention in Filipinos in the Middle East Blog .

Today, April 14, 2007 is the first day for all Filipinos all over the world who are outside the Philippines to cast their vote. The casting of vote for absentee voting will run month long. You can find voting precincts and make inquiries on embassies and consulates near your location.

It is good to know that it is the 2nd time that OFW will be able to practice their right to vote and participate in the national election.

I just hope that time will come that the Philippine Election will be fully computerized. We are now in Computer Age and the use of computer to prevent an election fraud is really necessary. I was once an Election Watcher, and I know the hardship that those teacher is encountering during Vote counting. And the saddest part of it, There are some news that the compensation due to the teachers is sometimes delayed than expected. So, to the Comelec please push for modernization.

    Hi,
Thought your site was a good source of info for the upcoming elections…thought I could be of help too:
To prepare for the upcoming Philippine Elections 07, sophomore Journalism students from the College of Mass Communication, University of the Philippines have written profiles of individual senatorial candidates.

Profiles were based on interviews, congressional records, and published articles/podcasts on the senatorial candidate. The students were specifically assigned to include their background and their stand on specific issues such as the VFA, the extra-judicial killings, family planning, divorce, and education.

We hope our class project for J102 will help you make an informed choice in the upcoming Elections. It also has links to other relevant election sites. You can view it via this link .

    cheers, rek

I think we have to spend more time explaining to OFWs around the world the importance of their right to vote.

Can’t blame the majority. They simply want to keep their distance from any Phil. government offices.

Whoever you are I think you are right more information should be dissiminated to the ofw with regards to this matter. I just heard from the news that the 65% voters turnout last 2004 may not be achieved in this year. How sad.
