The case of swine flu in Australia increased from last week’s 14 to 306 cases  as of Monday . They say that an Australian liner has to be blamed for this.

The ship has been blamed for the explosion in Australia’s swine flu cases from just 14 a week ago, after sick passengers disembarked in Sydney last week before mingling in tourist hot-spots and taking buses, planes and taxis home.

Some of the crew of this ship was also found to have swine flu and they are being quarantined in the ship. 2000 passengers and crew left the ship after being cleared of the swine flu.

Health Minister Nicola Roxon said 5,000 face masks were being sent to Victoria state and extra funds were available for research into swine flu, which has killed 99 people worldwide and infected more than 15,000.

Relatives of the ship were very angry that the cruise still allowed the ship to go on sail.

"I went on the Internet and saw all these articles," Gardner said. "This morning there were four helicopters up there, which was a bit nerve-wracking."

The temperatures of the passengers were already checked, including the crew and captain as well. Anne Russell, nurse, said that there were no more cases on the ship at this point in time. It was known that 75% of the fare of the passengers was given back to them and a further-cruises credit of 25%.

They closed eight schools to control the outbreak of the flu in Australia. According to WHO (World Health Organization), swine flu had infected 15,510 people in 53 countries since last month when it started in United States and Mexico.
