President Arroyo’s flight to New York cancelled

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is supposed to speak before the United Nations General Assembly next week but was cancelled. No explanations were given as to why it was cancelled.

But she will visit London on September 17 to attend the Emerging Markets Summit there.

She was invited to deliver a keynote address by London-based newsmagazine “The Economist,” according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

After that she will fly to Saudi Arabia on September 19 for a 3-day visit and she will talk with King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.

The chief executive will also meet with the Saudi Minister of Agriculture and members of the Saudi business community.

President Arroyo will also go to the inauguration of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.

The DFA also said that Mrs. Arroyo is scheduled to grace the inauguration of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.
