Rubilen Amit,World Women’s 10-Ball Champions
The World Women’s 10-Ball Championship has been announced and I feel great to announced that a Filipina by the name of Rubilen Amit won the contest. She defeated two-time world champion Liu Shin-mei of Chinese Taipei. She is a 27 year old girl from Mandaue. Amit defeated 48 cue women player . Amit is now considered the cheering crowd is her plus point in winning the said event.
“I’m very happy that, finally, I realized my dream of becoming a world champion,” Amit said. She added, “I offer this victory to our country and to all the Filipinos, especially to those who have helped me and my fellow billiards players like our godfather Putch Puyat, coach Boyet Asosto, and Senator Manny Villar, whose Villar Cup provided me some sort of a training ground, especially when I was kicked out of the national team.”
Amit also earned the $20,000 top prize at stake in the five-day events. Amit became the first woman to win the World 10-Ball title.
