“Showtime” is back
“Showtime”, ABS-CBN’s popular morning show will be back on air tomorrow, January 19. Head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications, Mr. Bong Osorio confirmed that ABS-CBN got their TRO (temporary restraining order) from the Court of Appeals which allows the resumption of “Showtime”.
"Bukas na po (babalik ang ‘Showtime’). May TRO effective for 60 days. The preventive suspension order against the program has been lifted," Osorio said.
Below is ABS-CBN’s official statement on the TRO:
"Natanggap ng mga abogado ng ABS-CBN ngayong umaga ang resolusyon ng Court of Appeals dated January 15, 2010 na nagsasaad sa huling bahagi nito and we quote, "For reasons afore-stated, and as prayed for by petitioner, let a TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER be issued, as it is hereby issued, effective sixty (60) days from notice hereof, enjoining respondent MTRCB, including any and all persons acting in their behalf and under their command and authority, from continuing to enforce the Preventive Suspension Order dated January 11, 2010 issued against petitioner, pending the resolution of the instant petition." Ang ibig sabihin nito mapapanood na muli ang SHOWTIME sa dati pa ring oras simula bukas, January 19, 2010."
The hosts of “Showtime” Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, Kim Atienza, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, and resident judge Vice Ganda got emotional and cried after they announced the news on Monday that the country’s hit talent show "Showtime" will be back.
“Showtime” promotes and showcases the creativity and talent of filipinos nationwide.
