Former President Joseph Estrada is about to return to Malacañang after almost nine years that he has been ousted. Erap, as what Estrada is popularly known has been invited by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to attend the meeting of the full National Security Council (NSC) on Tuesday. Erap said he accepted the invitation of President Arroyo that was sent to him last Friday night disregarding what the motives of the president Arroyo may be. Proclamation 1959: Proclaiming a State of Martial Law and suspending the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus in the province of Maguindanao except for certain areas.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is supposed to speak before the United Nations General Assembly next week but was cancelled. No explanations were given as to why it was cancelled.
But she will visit London on September 17 to attend the Emerging Markets Summit there.
She was invited to deliver a keynote address by London-based newsmagazine “The Economist,” according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

After that she will fly to Saudi Arabia on September 19 for a 3-day visit and she will talk with King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo declared that September 7 will be a non-working holiday. This is due to national day of mourning for Iglesia Ni Cristo Executive Minister Erano “Ka Erdy” Manalo.
Ka Erdy’s interment will be held on that same day at 12:00 noon at the Tabernacle located near the Central Temple .
So be prepared for the heavy traffic.

A congressman in name of Rep. Danilo Suarez claimed that he Paid for the bill at Bobby Van’s Steak House in Washington D.C. on July 30. and claims that he gave tip of $1500 at a Washington Restaurant.
Besides admitting that he forked out $12,000 for the Arroyo entourage’s pricey dinner at Bobby Van’s Steak House in Washington D.C. on July 30, Quezon Rep. Danilo Suarez also said that he gave the restaurant a gratuity equivalent to P70,000.

Former President Corazon Aquino has been diagnosed of colon cancer since March 2008 and died of cardio-respiratory  arrest at 3:18 am, Saturday, August 1, 2009. She is the mother of Senator Noynoy Aquino and Kris Aquino.

It is a great privilege for Philippines’ President Gloria-Macapagal Arroyo to be the first Southeast Asia’s first leader to meet US President Barack Obama this coming July 3o in the White House.
"The president will receive President Arroyo at the White House on July 30, where they will have an opportunity to discuss ways to enhance US-Philippine cooperation on critical global issues including counter-terrorism and climate change, as well as further the traditionally strong alliance and bond between our nations," the White House said in a statement.
