It was reported by Inquirer.net that there is a possibility of No proclamation of new poll winners before June 30 possible . It is because of the the law on partial poll automation could delay the proclamation of congressional and senatorial winners before their predecessors’ term of office ends on June 30, 2007 and trigger a constitutional crisis, Chairman Benjamin Abalos of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said on Thursday.

A blog from patsadakarajaw.wordpress.com shows the expression made by Joel Simon an executive director of Committee to Protect Journalist, a NeW York based media watchdog. In a reaction to the arrest of the online editor of Newsbreak magazine, Gemma Bagayaua, in connection to a libel case filed against Chavit Singson.

“Government officials should not rush to a prosecutor every time a journalist writes critically about those in power.The charges against the Newsbreak editors should be dropped,”

www.balita-online.net reported about 27 – PhilHealth holds off distribution of cards until post election

A ranking official of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) said they will hold off the release of new health cards until after the elections to avoid possible allegations of electioneering.

PhilHealth Senior vice president Octavino Esguerra cited a provision under the 2007 General Appropriation Act (GAA) that prohibits PhilHealth from distributing health cards before the election period.

This is good to know that this Philheatlth will not be used for the election.

On a report by Erwin Oliva at INQUIRER.net Senatorial bets told anew to submit drug test certificate and they have been warned Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman Benjamin Abalos has urged the senatorial candidates to file their certificates for drug testing or face disqualification and giving them up to March 29 to submit to attach the document to the certificates of candidacy (CoC) that they have filed at the Comelec.
Now the question is what will COMELEC do if they found out that a candidate is positive on Drug Test? …

Joel Guinto of INQUIRER.net reported that PNP tags 9 provinces poll ‘areas of concern’
PNP spokesman Chief Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao Jr., in a statement, identified the nine provinces as Cagayan, Isabela, Abra (The province was placed under the control of the Commission on Elections on Tuesday. See related story), Nueva Ecija, Masbate, Western Samar, Lanao del Sur, and Basilan.
