122 Grade 3 students caught fever in Bacolod City. This is the reason why suspension of classes were made. The name of the school is St. John’s Institute. According to Principal Marilou Geraldoy only Grade 3 classes will be suspended  until Wednesday. The students started to get sick Friday last week and that the students were not able to attend their classes.
Monitoring of students is advised to know who among the students have swine flu.

A 49 year old employee of the House of Representatives who had swine flu died. But according to the doctors the death was mainly because the woman had swine flu also has a heart and liver disease which made her body really weak. Batasan Pambansa complex in Quezon City was shut down due to this. The suspension of work until Sunday was ordered by House Speaker Prospero Nograles. The buildings will undergo sanitation during the days of suspension of work.

It has been reported by the DOH Department of Health that there are new 54 confirmed H1N1 positive. But they have told that the mortality rate of H1N1 is 0.05% only which is very low compared to other sickness like SARS, Fever and other deadly sickness. So the people should be educated about the information of this new sickness.
If I were DOH I will make an advertisement in order to educate the people .

Some of the schools in Manila are opening their classes today inspite of the Philippines’ 147 confirmed cases of swine flu as of today, June 14.
According to the Marketing and Communications executive director of DLSU Manila, Mr. Jose Mari Magpayo, their school is conducting  a “Be Flu-less, Not Clueless” information drive about swine flu or A(H1N1) influenza virus. Complete sanitation has been conducted to prevent the further spread of swine flu.

UPIS (University of the Philippines Integrated School)  Principal Dr. Aurora Zuniga announced that classes in all levels in UP will start on June 16, following the order of CHED. Classes were suspended in Metro Manila due to swine flu that is starting to spread. On June 3, school officials suddenly announced they were closing the school for 10 days after a 21-year old female foreign exchange student tested positive for the A(H1N1) flu virus. On Thursday, health authorities said another foreign student, a male, was also sick with the virus.

I just saw the news that there is a Filipina Nurse that has been positive for H1N1 Flu Virus. She is now being treated in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. The Filipina Nurse arrived in Saudi Arabia last friday via Gulf Air and show symptoms last Monday. I just hope it will not spread out.
