Former President Joseph Estrada is about to return to Malacañang after almost nine years that he has been ousted. Erap, as what Estrada is popularly known has been invited by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to attend the meeting of the full National Security Council (NSC) on Tuesday. Erap said he accepted the invitation of President Arroyo that was sent to him last Friday night disregarding what the motives of the president Arroyo may be. President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo declared that September 7 will be a non-working holiday. This is due to national day of mourning for Iglesia Ni Cristo Executive Minister Erano “Ka Erdy” Manalo.
Ka Erdy’s interment will be held on that same day at 12:00 noon at the Tabernacle located near the Central Temple .
So be prepared for the heavy traffic.

Former President Corazon Aquino has been diagnosed of colon cancer since March 2008 and died of cardio-respiratory  arrest at 3:18 am, Saturday, August 1, 2009. She is the mother of Senator Noynoy Aquino and Kris Aquino.
It has been said that the present President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has announced a 10-day mourning period for the former president Corazon Aquino according to Ray Donato, the country’s consul-general in Atlanta.

It is a great privilege for Philippines’ President Gloria-Macapagal Arroyo to be the first Southeast Asia’s first leader to meet US President Barack Obama this coming July 3o in the White House.
"The president will receive President Arroyo at the White House on July 30, where they will have an opportunity to discuss ways to enhance US-Philippine cooperation on critical global issues including counter-terrorism and climate change, as well as further the traditionally strong alliance and bond between our nations," the White House said in a statement.

Overprints of the 12 million banknotes will be issued starting Thursday for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas or BSP. Overprints include all the six circulation notes.
The 20-piso note has the portrait of Manuel L. Quezon, first President, and the scrolls with the “Wikang Pambansa” and “Saligang  Batas” inscriptions. The reverse Malacanan Palace where Quezon was the first president to ever stayed there.

Vice President Manuel “Noli” de Castro Jr on Wednesday said government officials, including President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, should be charged if they would be found directly involved in the alleged anomalies in the National Broadband Network (NBN) project.

A Philippine court dismissed rebellion charges Thursday against a former vice president and 17 other civilians linked to an attempt by soldiers to trigger an uprising against President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo last month.
“There is no probable cause to indict the accused civilians for rebellion,” Makati city regional trial court Judge Elmo Alameda said in a ruling.
The judge, however, upheld the prosecutors’ indictment of 15 soldiers and three former military personnel, including Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV ­ a former navy officer facing separate charges of mutiny in 2003.
