President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo declared that September 7 will be a non-working holiday. This is due to national day of mourning for Iglesia Ni Cristo Executive Minister Erano “Ka Erdy” Manalo.
Ka Erdy’s interment will be held on that same day at 12:00 noon at the Tabernacle located near the Central Temple .
So be prepared for the heavy traffic.

The new pride of the Philippines, 19 year-old Marvin Sonsona won over Jose Lopez of Puerto Rico, this Friday (Saturday in Manila). He won the World Boxing Organization (WBO) super flyweight title at the Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada. The scores were 116-109, 115-110, 114-111, all in favor of Sonsona.
“Lopez was such a tough fighter, and winning a decision against him shows that I’m a real fighter, and a worthy champion,” the hard-punching Sonsona said shortly after winning the fight.

In the 72nd UAAP men’s basketball which was held in the FilOil Flying V Arena, the UE (University of the Philippines) Warriors won over NU (National University) Bulldogs on Saturday. With the UE having the score of 70 and NU having the score of 58. The UE starlayer Paul lee made up for their losses according to their coach Lawrence Chongson. Lee made 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
