Twenty-nine cases of election-related violent incidents
I have blog the other day that according to Abalos there is no election related violence so far, I even commented that I think this is not right , and It was confirmed today on the report of ABS-CBN News – The Philippine Star that Twenty-nine cases of election-related violent incidents have occurred since the start of the campaign period last Jan. 14, police said on Sunday.
Philippine National Police chief Director General Oscar Calderon has ordered police nationwide to intensify their campaign against all forms of criminality, particularly those related to the elections. “I have taken to task all regional directors and concerned national support units, and the National Task Force HOPE to take preparatory actions primarily thru dialogue and aggressive interdiction operations against armed groups that may disrupt the otherwise orderly and peaceful elections in May,” he said. I do hope that police will stick on their words so that this election will be a peaceful one. Not unlike before where we can hear at the news that there are lots of election related violence. 29 Incidents is enough let us pray to have a peaceful election.
