Update on School openings inspite of Swine flu

Some of the schools in Manila are opening their classes today inspite of the Philippines’ 147 confirmed cases of swine flu as of today, June 14.

According to the Marketing and Communications executive director of DLSU Manila, Mr. Jose Mari Magpayo, their school is conducting  a “Be Flu-less, Not Clueless” information drive about swine flu or A(H1N1) influenza virus. Complete sanitation has been conducted to prevent the further spread of swine flu.

DLSU Taft Avenue set up help desks and gave free bottles of alcohol to students returning to class.

Students from Centro Escolar University are made to line up to check their temperatures. Students with temperatures higher than 37 degrees celsius are asked to go to their clinic while the oes with cough and colds were immediately sent home.

Candelaria National High School in Bulacan suspended classes after 49 students got sick. They are still under observation.

Suspension of classes are advised to the school officials(school president or administration)  if they have confirmed case of swine flu. Students with symptoms of swine flu are advised to stay at home.
