Q: You did not prepare a valedictory speech?

SFMD: I did not. I intend to come back after three years. I have plans of trying it again after three years. I hate goodbyes… I intend to present myself again to the electorate in three years. Hopefully, the Filipino people will accept me again in 2010.

Q: Coming back after three years for sure?

SFMD: Nothing is sure on this earth but certainly, it’s part of my planning. Whether I could come back or not, that would depend on the people.

Q: Bakit hindi kayo lumaban for other position ngayon?

SFMD: After being in the Senate and after being the Senate president for five years and a half

Q: Pahinga muna? What will you do?

SFMD: I’ll practice law. I’ll rebuild the Liberal Party in preparation for the 2010 election In the meantime, sisikapin kong palakasin ang Partido Liberal sa susunod na tatlong taon para ihanda ang partido pagdating ng halalan sa 2010.

Q: May habilin ba kayo sa mga maiiwan?

SFMD: Magagaling ang mga maiiwan dito at ang mga papasok kaya hindi kailangang magbilin.

Q: Ano ba kailangan bilang senador? Kailangan ba matigas ang bituka? Is there any advice that you will leave to the new ones?

SFMD: Watch your back.

I think we have to watch out for the Liberal Party because they have a vision already on 2010 at this early stage.
