Zubiri knock down Pimentel
Team Unity (TU) senatorial bet Juan Miguel Zubiri knockdown Genuine Opposition (GO) candidate Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel from the 12th place in the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) latest tally of the May 14 midterm election results as reported by GMANews.TV
Comelec’s partial, official tally as of 12 noon, Saturday, showed seven GO, three TU and two independent candidates remaining in the winning circle, with some of the bets exchanging positions in the top ranks.
Top four positions still remain under GO bets Loren Legarda with 15,283,897 votes, Francis Joseph “Chiz” Escudero with 15,086,068 votes, Manuel Villar Jr with 12,776,480 votes and Panfilo “Ping” Lacson with 12,685,837 votes. Villar replaced Lacson who was a third placer in the previous Comelec tally.
Fifth placer is still Liberal Party bet Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan with 12,161,031 votes, followed by consistent sixth placer, Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III with 11,822,828 votes.
TU bet Edgardo Angara continues to be on the seventh slot with 10,361,870 votes, while another TU bet Joker Arroyo climbs the eighth slot with 9,837,603 – pulling down GO bet Alan Peter Cayetano to the ninth, with 9,566,034 votes.
Meanwhile, independent candidate, Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan keeps the 10th slot with 9,332,641 votes, followed by GO bet Antonio Trillanes IV, fixed at the 11th spot with 8,968,112 votes.
Finally, Juan Miguel Zubiri hangs on to the 12th spot with 8,933,059 votes. - GMANews.TV
The contest to magic 12 is now being excited. NObody knows who will go to Top 12. But I thin those that is staying til the 8th position are sure winners.
